This Privacy Policy explains how Richad Ševela ("RecordCV", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you use our website and services at recordcv.com (the "Service").

We are the data controller for personal data processed through the Service, unless stated otherwise. Our registered address is Einschicht 3, 7151 Wallern im Burgenland, Austria.

• Account data: name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), and account preferences.
• CV content: résumé text, work history, education, skills, and any other information you enter or upload.
• Audio and transcripts: voice recordings you submit for transcription and the resulting text used to generate or update your CV.
• Uploaded files: PDFs or other documents you import, including metadata needed to process them.
• Usage and technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, timestamps, and diagnostic logs.
• Cookies and similar technologies: as described in our Cookie Policy.
• Billing data: if you purchase a paid plan, payment details are processed by our payment provider; we receive limited billing metadata such as subscription status and transaction identifiers.

2. How we use your data

We use personal data to:

• provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
• transcribe audio, generate CV content, and produce PDF exports;
• authenticate users and secure accounts;
• process subscriptions and manage billing;
• communicate with you about the Service, including support and transactional emails;
• monitor performance, prevent abuse, and improve reliability;
• comply with legal obligations.

Where required under the GDPR, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)), legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)), consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), and legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).

3. Processors and subprocessors

We use trusted third-party providers to help us deliver the Service. These may include:

• Hetzner — application and database hosting;
• Resend — transactional email delivery;
• OpenAI — speech-to-text and content generation;
• Stripe — subscription and payment processing.

We require processors to handle personal data only on our instructions and subject to appropriate safeguards.

4. Retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain data longer where required by law, to resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or for legitimate business purposes such as security logging.

When you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required.

Your data may be processed in countries outside your country of residence, including outside the European Economic Area. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
